My portrait of Joe Rogan. This one shows the “old school Joe” in his studio before the transition to Spotify. I wanted to depict the different aspects of this guy who has blown up the podcast world in a year that has been an unprecedented crazy-house of death, disease, violence, natural disasters, political upheaval, and distrust of information. A lot of energy went into this baby. I attacked it with a knife at one point, it smashed onto the cement floor and damaged the corners… I think Joe would like it that way :D

Joe seems to have a cool balance of “Trippy-Hippie-Tree-Huggin’ Love” and “Quit yer Cryin’-Love for America” that inspired this portrait. I don’t know the real Joe Rogan but I attempted to capture the seemingly contrasting elements of this very interesting man. Power & Beauty. Personal Responsibility & “Who gives a F#*&” Immaturity.
